Senior Electrical Engineer

Fluidnet is looking for an Electrical Engineer with 7-10 years of experience to perform hardware development, system integration, design verification and design transfer to manufacturing activities for the Fluidnet IV Infusion System.

Essential functions:

  • Design and analyze electronic circuitry:
    • Analog circuits
    • Digital circuits
    • Mixed signal circuits
    • Power circuits
  • Oversee and support design verification of existing boards
  • Contribute to and oversee the development of next-generation boards
  • Work with mechanical teams to ensure form, fit and function of electronic hardware
  • Work with software engineering team to:
    • Maintain hardware readiness for software development
    • Support efforts to minimize power consumption
  • Work with outside testing labs to achieve 60601 certification of the electronic sub-system
  • Complete all electronic sub-system deliverables required for FDA submission
  • Coordinate and manage contract layout and fabrication resource

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, minimum
  • 7+ years of experience designing embedded electronic circuits for medical devices
  • Design voltage regulator circuits including LDO and switching regulators
  • Experience with circuit board communication hardware including I2C, SPI, UART
  • Experience with software tools including ORCAD Capture and PADS PCB
  • Prior experience collaborating with insourced and outsourced embedded software and mechanical development teams
  • Familiarity with regulations governing electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility and the activities necessary to achieve IEC 60601 certification
  • Understanding of FDA requirements for electronic medical device design and verification

Additional preferred prior experience

  • Managing outsourced vendors for design services including PCB layout
  • Managing outsourced vendors for manufacturing services including custom components, printed circuit board fabrication, printed circuit board assembly and wire harnesses
  • LCD displays, Li-ion batteries, brush DC motor controls, solenoid valves and pressure sensors
  • Lattice CPLDs and ABEL
  • Ethernet PHY
  • Integrating OTS wireless radio modules (WiFi, Zigbee, etc)
  • FMEA
